Needle-flame Test

Definition：

The test is used to determine in under the conditions specified in the flame test does not make part burning, or test flame ignites the combustible components, but parts of the combustion duration or length of combustion is limited and flame or from the test sample falls under burning or glowing particles will not enable combustion.

Purpose:

Needle flame test apparatus is in terms of size (diameter 0.9mm) needle burner, to specific gas (butane), to an angle of 45 DEG timing orienting application fuel sample and visual test is ignited and to burning time and burning length to evaluate the internal equipment due to fault conditions caused by the small flame of fire risk.

Methods:

The test flame is applied to the surface of the test sample which is most easily affected by the flame, and the flame is produced by the normal use and the failure condition.

The duration of the test flame shall be in accordance with the provisions of the relevant standards.

The test flame is positioned at the position of the flame tip and the surface of the test sample. After the prescribed time, the test flame will be removed.

If the flame is applied during the test sample drop melting or flame material, and 45 vertical tilt burner.
